The Olive Season – Jerash

As part of the Community Support Committee Project in Jerash, implemented by the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD) and funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in collaboration with the Directorate of Agriculture, an activity was held on November 12 to celebrate the olive season. The event took place in the center's garden and began with an enriching lecture on the importance of olive trees, their products, and agriculture in general. 

The activity was distinguished by lively discussions about the customs and traditions associated with olive harvesting. Participants shared songs, chants, and stories related to these rituals, creating an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie. 

A traditional breakfast was also prepared, featuring Sajieh (a traditional cooked dish), tea brewed over firewood. Everyone enjoyed the meal together in the garden, reviving these heritage traditions and strengthening community bonds. 

The event concluded with sports activities in partnership with the "Partnership" project. 23 people participated, including 18 Syrian nationals and 5 Jordanians.
